Free chess opening trainer for Chess.com and Lichess players

Find the openings that cost you the most points in your own games, then practice them against an AI matched to your rating, with a Stockfish review of your mistakes.

Free. No signup, no card, nothing to install.

How it works

From a username to practice in three steps.

  1. Enter your username

Pick Chess.com or Lichess and type your username.

  2. We find the openings that cost you the most points

We read your last 300 games and show your results by color and opening.

  3. Train them against AI

Play the exact opening where you lose against an AI matched to your rating. Stockfish reviews your mistakes (?! ? ??) and shows the best move.

Questions

Is the opening trainer free?
Yes. The opening report and practice against the AI are free.
Do I need an account?
No. Enter your username and your report opens, with no signup.
Do you need my password?
No. We only read your public games.
Which sites does it work with?
It works with Chess.com and Lichess. ChessDrills is not affiliated with either site.
How many games does it use?
Your last 300 finished games: up to 150 as White and 150 as Black.
What if I have fewer than 300 games?
We use all the games you have. Openings with only a few games are marked as a small sample, so you do not over-read them.
How is this different from an opening course?
You train the openings from your own games, not a course.
What is practice against the AI?
You play the opening against an AI matched to your rating. Stockfish then reviews the game: your inaccuracies, mistakes and blunders (?! ? ??), an evaluation chart and the best move.
